Beheaded Vikings Haunt London Olympic Sailing Site

I wondered if these were some of the Vikings who suffered when London Bridge's stones were dropped on the invaders and gave rise to the nursery rhyme "London Bridge is falling down."

Bridges and headless men make me think of Ichabod Crane.

Sounds plausible, except, I seem to recall, that when the vilkings were around, London bridge was made of timber.

They imported stones and flower pots for the occasion. You are aware, non, that on Bastille Day, the French drop firecrackers from bridges onto barges.

Next thing you'll be telling me the refrain, "My Fair Lady," has nothing to do with Rex Harrison, Julie Andrews or Pygmalion.

The French do all sorts of odd things. They eat frogs and horses for a start. The AS didnt eat frogs & horses & nor did they drop stones over the wooden bridge later to become known as London Bridge; the stone version of the latter, I believe, being later dismantled & sold to some country the other side of the pond :)
